TAG Heuer’s Monaco V4

The Monaco V4 is one of the most amazing wonders of mechanical engineering in the world today. It's the world’s first wristwatch with a linear mass, which is mounted on the world’s smallest ball bearings.
The TAG Heuer Monaco V4 changes completely the rules of watchmaking by, surprisingly, getting its inspiration from car engines. Like mechanical watches, engines use the same concepts: transmission, friction, torque and power. The Tag Heuer First applies them in a different way so first, instead of a rotating oscillating weight for automatic winding, it uses a 4.25-gram platinum ingot which acts as a sort of cylinder, in a linear movement. Then it changes the transmission of power from the traditional wheels to a drive-belt transmission: 13 belts with a gauge measure of 0.5 x 0.45mm.
The four barrels act as energy generators with bridges made of transparent sapphire.
The price is $97,500.

L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon CHOPARD

The watch has distinctive character, undeniable power and represents a deliberate break with traditional watch design principles. This mechanical marvel is powered by an exceptional “motor”, proprietary L.U.C Calibre 1TRM. Machined like an engine block and mounted on silent-blocks, this mechanical hand-wound tourbillon movement was designed, developed and produced at Chopard Manufacture. It is equipped with a 60-hour power reserve and is mounted within the case on shock-absorbing blocks much like a race car engine. Three lever-arms inserted into the middle of the case hold it in place and ensure absolute stability.
As the name suggests the piece features a tourbillon complication, which is exposed on the stunningly simplistic dial, sitting just below the power reserve indicator. The tourbillon cage completes one revolution every 60 seconds and the bridge has been beautifully skeletonized, maximizing the visual appeal of this highly desirable novelty. Like the most coveted sports cars, the titanium L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon is naturally issued in a limited edition of 150 pieces and priced at $50,000.

Richard Mille RM011

MB & F Horological Machine No. 4 Thunderbolt

A traditional wristwatch has a relatively straightforward role: to tell the time. All that is needed is a hand for the hours, another for the minutes and perhaps a power reserve indicator to keep track of running time. Horological Machine No4 Thunderbolt has a hand for the hours, another for the minutes and a power reserve indicator.
HM4 Thunderbolt is not a traditional wristwatch. The aviation-inspired case and engine of the Thunderbolt are one. Neither would, nor could, exist without the other, yet each is so transcendental as to be able to stand alone as a work of art in its own right.
The Thunderbolt’s engine is the culmination of three long years of development. Each of the 300-plus components – including the regulator and even the screws – was developed specifically for this anarchistic calibre.
The sleek aerodynamic form of the Thunderbolt’s titanium and sapphire envelope has its roots in Maximilian Büsser’s childhood passion for assembling model plane kits, though none looked remotely as futuristic as this. The striking transparent sapphire section of the case requires over 100 hours of machining and polishing to transform an opaque solid block of crystal into a complex, exquisitely curved panel allowing the light to come in and the beauty of Thunderbolt’s engine to stand out.

Richard Mille RM011 Titanium Brown

The watch marks the first appearance of a brown case in the Richard Mille collection.
The titanium case of the Richard Mille watch has been provided with a PVD treatment, having acquired a rich metallic brown shade. It is accentuated by bright orange featured on the inner bezel, crown, indicators and strap. It is 50-meter water-resistant.
The RM011 Titanium Brown is animated by a skeletonized automatic-winding movement that offers the flyback chronograph functions, with synched 60 minute countdown timer. The movement, with adjustable rotor geometry, also powers the annual calendar and oversize date and month. It gives an advantage of a 55-hour power reserve.
The watch is 40mm wide and 50mm tall.
The Richard Mille RM 011 Titanium Brown watch will be available in a limited edition of 30 pieces at the retail price of $95,000.

Tissot Sailing Touch 2012

Replica Graham ChronoSprint

ChronoFighter and SwordFish may be the crown princes in the repertoire of Graham – a premier brand of luxury watches. Recently this Ango-Swiss watch maker struck gold with this new model. Reviewers note that the designs are inspired by art deco style of early twentieth century, later given a new lease on life in the 1960s.
The watch case is three-dimensional, and its depth is one of the major attractions of the design. The hour indicators are loud, shaped like thick daggers. With a style reminiscent of dashboard dials ChronoSprint’s seconds indicator pushes art deco look to new heights. In all other aspects the watches are traditional in essence with modernist tang to it.
Essentially a reproduction of the original designs, it is made by skilled craftsmen from good quality materials in a streamlined manufacturing process. It is then made available in the market, at only a fraction of the price of the original. All the attractive features are in place and every care has been taken in ensuring precision and durability.

Tissot Sailing -Touch

It is a real departure from the aggressive looks of the rest of the T-Touch line. The look is smoother and feels more like a boating instrument, a watch like this could quickly be adopted as a sailor's good friend.
The case is in steel and 43mm wide. Tissot here has departed from using titanium that was so popular with other T-Touch watches. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters. The case lugs look like loops - such as something you'd find on a boat. The rubber strap however is closely fitted to the case and there is no real gap in the loop hole. The design of the case lends itself to being very smooth, such that nothing on the watch will snag or pull at anything if you are moving around quickly on a boat. This also applied to the pushers that have smoothed out like pebbles.
Some of the impressive range of functions includes a mechanism for measuring speed over a given distance, a compass, two alarms, two time-zones, a perpetual calendar and back-lighting.

Alpina Extreme Tourbillon Regulator Manufacture

Bovet Ottanta Tourbillon by Pinninfarina

Pininfarina may be best known for designing Ferraris – just about every one, in fact, for the past several decades – but the Italian design house has a growing portfolio that extends far beyond automobiles to include furniture, trains and much more. This, however, appears to be new territory for the coachbuilder. Collaborating with Swiss watchmaker Bovet, Pininfarina has designed a highly exclusive tourbillon.
At first glance, it appears that it is designed to be worn on your wrist like a traditional wristwatch, and it is. But it can also be flipped around, like a Reverso, allowing you to display either the caseback or dial side. That’s not it, though, it can also convert into a pocket watch. And if that is not enough, it even converts into a miniature clock.
The Bovet Ottana Tourbillon by Pininfarina incorporates the complex movement you’d expect from the name, plus a large date indicator, 80-hour power reserve meter and minute repeater, all incorporated into the brass-crafted, 514-piece Calibre 16BA01 movement.
Only 80 watches will be made with a price tag approaching $300,000.

Alpina Extreme Tourbillon Regulator Manufacture

Alpina release two new models of their Extreme Tourbillon Regulator Manufacture for 2010.
The Swiss manufacturer received acclaim at Baselworld 2009 for their full black version of the Extreme Tourbillon Regulator and the latest models added to the collection are enhanced with the use of a traditional material, pink gold.
The movement the AL Calibre 980 is unique and technically innovative – the use of a silicon escapement wheel and silicon pallet lever (in common with sister company Frédérique Constant) together with the brand’s Smart Weight Balancing™ ensure the ultimate in accuracy and reliability.  The AL Calibre 980 was conceived and developed within three years by a dedicated team of engineers and watchmakers driven by a common goal, the future sucess of this revived brand. The two models have 48mm cases constructed from titanium with pink gold bezel or pink gold with a black ceramic bezel.
The Alpina Extreme Tourbillon Regulator Manufacture models will be a limited release of 18 pieces per version.

Hamilton Watch

Harry Winston Premier Perpetual Calendar

While not entirely new, the design represents a refined look for the perpetual calendar piece in their Premier collection. The case shape of the Premier collection which includes three “claws” on the top and bottom of the case has been around for over 20 years. Though the case keeps growing, and the movements inside of it continue to grow in complication. Actually, in the scheme of modern Harry Winston watches, this watch isn’t too large at just 41mm wide in 18k white gold.
The highly dimensional dial articulates the quality of craftsmanship and places the focus firmly on the complications. Surrounded by a snailed black base, the silver coloured Côtes de Genève pays eloquent tribute to fine watch making tradition. The anthracite colour contrast highlights the various indications: off-centered hours and minutes, retrograde months at 10 o’clock and retrograde dates at 7 o’clock are arranged in a contemporary manner, while the understated leap-year and moon-phase apertures are set opposite each other.
Driven by a mechanical self-winding movement with a 45-hour power reserve, the Premier Perpetual Calendar is also available with a silvered dial.

HAMILTON ODC X-02

In a futuristic shaped case, appropriately modeled on the cross section of an aircrafts wing, this timepiece allows the wearer to be in three places at once. The design is inspired by the watch Hamilton originally made for Stanley Kubricks 1966 movie "2001: A Space Odyssey".
The ODC X-02 supports three different time zones and features telescopic dials connected to each time chamber. With its aerodynamic shape, the watch has a futuristic look that will appeal to those who appreciate superior design and who aren't afraid to make a statement. Available in titanium or black PVD coating with a puzzle like clasp, there are only 1,000 available and are already in high demand.
